The Dows Lane Library is a place where students become effective users of ideas and information. Our goal is to promote and nurture lifelong reading habits for both reading for pleasure and reading for information.
Students in grades K-3 will receive library instruction once a week. All students are allowed to check out 2 books from the library.
• Students may return books and choose others throughout the day, with permission from the classroom teacher.
• There are no late fees, but we do ask you to replace or pay for any lost or damaged materials. The Birthday Book Club: The PTSA offers a birthday book club that families can donate a book, with a special label, to our library for their child's birthday. Please contact the PTSA or library for more details.

Irvington Public LibraryFines for Lost/Damaged Dows Lane Library Books:We recently set up a new system in order to streamline the process for collecting money for lost/damaged library books. Students/families will be asked to make this payment online using My School Bucks (the same system that is used for payments of school lunch, snacks, and field trips). Fees for all lost and/or damaged books will be $5.00. When using My School Bucks click on the drop-down option that says 'Library' and select that $5.00 amount to pay. Thank you.
