Dows Lane Elementary School students and staff came together in a powerful show of support by wearing red for Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Day on Feb. 7. A courageous student at Dows Lane who lives with CHD, asked if the school could support him raising awareness and demonstrating unity.
"Aligned with our District's Portrait of a Graduate, which emphasizes engaged citizenship, our students and staff were proud to stand with a member of our community in such a meaningful way,” Principal Dr. Andrea Kantor said.
