Second graders at Dows Lane Elementary School recently worked on strengthening their addition skills during a guided practice in their Eureka Math² notebooks. Under the guidance of their teacher Zach Richardson, the objective of the hands-on activity was to help students master addition within 100. The students explored multiple strategies to solve problems, including using number lines, the arrow way and writing number sentences.
The learning experience aligned with the district’s Portrait of a Graduate by fostering the second graders’ growth as courageous learners.
