Main Street School Students Craft Unique Textures and Personal Portraits in Art Class

Main Street School fourth and fifth grade artists are diving into exciting techniques that transform materials into extraordinary art under the guidance of their teacher, Iris Schechter.

The fourth graders are experimenting with watercolors, creating grainy textures by sprinkling salt onto them and bubbly effects by adding rubbing alcohol to them. Meanwhile, fifth graders have been creating self-portraits, whether representational or abstract. Through their artwork, they are sharing personal stories with creativity, showcasing their growth as effective communicators and self-aware individuals.
