Members of the Irvington Middle School Spanish Club embraced creativity and tradition by decorating sugar cookies, using edible markers to honor Día de los Muertos. The calavera, or the Spanish word for skull, is one of the most artistic and meaningful symbols of the Day of the Dead celebrations. During the activity, the students expressed themselves through colorful designs and discussed the significance of honoring loved ones and the various ways people celebrate the holiday across cultures.
