Message from Ms. GM 3/20/2020 - Distance Learning

  • Dear Irvington Students and Families,

I hope that this email finds you well and safe at home with your families and loved ones. We miss you!!  These continue to be challenging times.  It seems we all have more questions than answers, which can be very stressful.  Fortunately we have one another and I write to remind you that we continue to be here to support you.
Please be safe and know that I will continue to share information and updates as they become available.  All of us at IHS are incredibly grateful for your patience and partnership. Together we will all rise to the challenges and ultimately emerge stronger than ever!

As a reminder, if you are experiencing a need for social or emotional support, know that our team is prepared to help in any way possible. School counselors, psychologists ( Kelly Murphy / Noreen Sabia ), our Student Assistance Counselor ( Danielle Gamar ) and our district Social Worker ( Gina Menendez ) are accessible via email during this time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of your partners at the high school to help find solutions to whatever concern you may be facing.

With regard to our continued distance learning, Irvington High School will continue to provide learning opportunities for students via Google Classroom and other online platforms.  If you require support in accessing technology, the district may be able to provide you with a Chromebook/internet access. If you feel you will need to access this support, please reach out to me or Gina Menendez at Gina.Menendez@IrvingtonSchools.org before noon on Monday, March 23, 2020.

I plan to reach out again early next week with additional communication related to the distance learning shift that will take place on Wednesday, March 25 th when learning will be focused on new material and content.  Thank you in advance for your patience and partnership as we make that transition.  As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers, me or Mr. Samuelson if you have any questions.

    Best always,
    Juliet
