Dows Lane first grade students participated in a field trip to the Greenburgh Nature Center. Students engaged in experiential learning and were challenged to use their critical thinking skills while being thrilled by seeing snakes, chinchillas and chickens.
The visit tied in closely to their science unit, Animal and Plant Defenses, and students investigated how local wildlife uses physical adaptations, such as camouflage, to survive in the world.
