IUFSD to Revise Code of Conduct

Through the feedback of multiple stakeholder-based committees and focus groups, the Irvington UFSD has made revisions to the District Code of Conduct to ensure its language is culturally responsive and that the underlying beliefs are reflective of those held in the school community.  This year's revision efforts focused on the first several pages of the document.  A representative committee will continue the review of the balance of the document in the 2022-23 school year.  Additionally, as an outgrowth of the Root Cause Analysis, the District is beginning the necessary professional learning to implement restorative practices in a systematic manner.  As staff learning is expanded and practices are introduced in an aligned K-12 approach, additional revisions will be made to the Code.

Please review the attached documents that reflect the proposed revisions to the Code of Conduct that the Board of Education plans on adopting at its August 23rd meeting.  Should you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to email Dr. Harrison, Superintendent of Schools, Kristopher.Harrison@IrvingtonSchools.org.
