Third Graders Earn Presidential Education Awards
Dows Lane Elementary School third graders Jackson Vincent and Lillian Solomon have been recognized for their hard work and achievements with the Presidential Education Awards. Their teacher, Krystal Mitchell, commended them for showing kindness and leadership throughout the school year.
“Jackson works hard in all academics, includes others, and collaborates with peers on group projects and in morning circles,” Mitchell said. “Lillian helps everyone around her and supports her friends throughout learning and also at recess.”
Principal Andrea Kantor said she is proud of all Dows Lane students and delighted to have honored Jackson and Lillian for their achievements. Both students received a certificate and a letter from President Joe Biden.
Founded in 1983, the President’s Education Awards Program has provided individual recognition from the President and the U.S. Secretary of Education to those students whose outstanding efforts have enabled them to meet challenging standards of excellence. Each year, thousands of elementary, middle and high schools participate by recognizing deserving students.
