MSS Welcomes New Families With Breakfast
With support from the PTSA, Main Street School held its annual breakfast on Sept. 13 for students and parents who are new to the Irvington Union Free School District.
Every new student was paired with a buddy, who served as a peer leader at the beginning of the school year and joined them for the breakfast. Principal Joyce Chapnick greeted the new students and she, along with staff members, welcomed the new families and helped them make connections within the community.
“The welcome breakfast was an opportunity for new students and parents to learn more about Main Street School and for students to make new friends in their school community,” Chapnick said. “We are thrilled to welcome six new families to Main Street School.”
Special thanks to Mara Gredick, Pamela Grunstein and Sonal Vasudev from the PTSA New Families Committee for supporting the event.
