IUFSD's COVID-19 Test Requirement
-
As you may be aware, there are various testing modalities for COVID-19. The gold standard test is the laboratory based PCR testing which, because of the diligent process involved, typically takes a few days to receive results. NYSDOH and WCDOH have recently approved the Cepheid Xpert Xpress rapid test, the only rapid test which requires no confirmatory PCR testing. Accordingly, at this point in time, the Irvington UFSD will only accept a negative PCR test or a negative Cepheid Xpert Xpress test for clearance to return to school. The District will not accept rapid antigen or any other rapid molecular tests. As information and research regarding testing evolves, we may revisit this policy in order to stay in step with best practices. Thank you for your understanding.
