Capital Bond Project
The Irvington Union Free School District is currently in the design phase of our debt-neutral capital bond project that will improve the following areas:
Maintenance and infrastructure needs,
Energy conservation, and
Learning space modernization
The Buildings and Grounds Committee, co-chaired by Assistant Superintendent Carol Stein and Superintendent Kris Harrison, includes representatives from the Board of Education, the architectural firm H2M, and professional construction manager Triton Construction. For various parts of the project, we have or will be convening sub committees including our strategic partners, Altaris security and Edutek technology consultants along with staff, administration, and community members.
Periodically, presentations to the Board of Education and the community will be made at Board meetings (or as otherwise announced) and can be found here. Past presentations from the development of the project prior to the vote are archived and can be found on the various tabs on the left.
Once designs are approved, we will be continually updating this site with information. The State Education Department (SED) approves and permits all building projects for school districts in New York State. Construction will be completed in two phases: summer 2020 and then continue during summer 2021. Anticipated construction priorities and timelines will be shared with the school community. The District will be preparing for and updating the community on any expected inconvenience and closures that will result from the construction.
We are excited to “dig in” and work to make our capital project a reality. We thank the community for their support of this necessary and exciting project and hope you share our enthusiasm.
