Fifth Graders Make Real-Life Connections to Robots

Main Street School fifth grade students made real-life connections to their studies when they welcomed Westchester County Police Detective Thomas Barker and his hazmat robot as special guests at their school on May 26.

During the visit, Detective Barker demonstrated how robots assist in many scenarios for Westchester County and helped bring robots to life for the students. STEM teacher Gwenn Carney organized the visit as a culminating experience for the students who have been studying robotics and automation in their Project Lead the Way classes.
