‘Be Our Guest’ at Irvington Middle School’s Production of ‘Beauty and the Beast, Jr.”

Members of Irvington Middle School’s Drama Club will present a special performance of “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” as their spring musical on April 12-13. More than 90 students have been working diligently to bring the wonderful story to life on stage.

The 60-minute musical is based on the 1994 Broadway production and Disney’s 1991 animated feature film. It tells the story of Belle, an adventurous young girl, played by Maya Calabrese, and the Beast, her captor who is a young prince trapped under a spell, played by Owen Baumkirchner. To break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and earn her love in return – before time runs out. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, including Eloise Koszlowskit as a loving teapot, TJ Cairo as a charming candelabra and a very nervous mantel clock played by Timmy Jacoby, Belle and the Beast find a beautiful friendship and love that neither knew was possible.

Performances will take place on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, at 5 p.m. at Irvington High School Campus Theater. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults and available at the door the night of each performance.
