Junior Organizes Art Exhibition to Support Hudson River Conservation

Irvington High School junior Minori Furtado has taken the initiative to organize an art exhibition aimed at raising awareness and funds for the conservation and protection of the Hudson River.

A dedicated advocate for ecological sustainability and conservation efforts, Furtado has curated a diverse collection of artworks from both student and seasoned artists for the “Ebb & Flow” exhibition at Studio 8 from April 11-17. Through her longstanding commitment to environmental causes and her leadership in organizing volunteer groups, Furtado has demonstrated her passion for preserving the natural beauty of the Hudson River.

“We are thrilled to support Minori and her initiative to promote environmental conservation through art,” Principal Jon Hirsch said. “Our school is committed to supporting students like Minori who want to take what she’s learned in classrooms and use that knowledge as an engaged citizen to help make the world a better place.”

The “Ebb & Flow” exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to bid on a wide array of artworks, with all proceeds benefiting Riverkeeper, a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental conservation and protection for the Hudson River. In addition, attendees can make donations through Furtado’s fundraising page for the exhibition.
