Irvington Students Recognized as National Merit Commended Scholars

Irvington High School is proud to announce that sixteen outstanding students have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. The honored students are Lucy Acharekar, Max Bloom, Noah Brenner, Anna Dorokhova, Simran Jain, Kai Johnston, Chunghyun Kawata, Brian Kim, Jordana Laks, Daisy Lamb, Alyssa Magallon, Sebastien Marcotte, Lila Nolan, Mark Rothman, Julia Welter, and Sara Welter.

Being named a Commended Student is a distinction awarded annually by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to high-achieving students across the country. This recognition is based on exceptional performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, they placed among the top 50,000 scorers out of more than 1.3 million juniors who took the exam in 2024.

Irvington High School congratulates these students on their outstanding accomplishment and applauds their dedication and academic excellence.
