Students Celebrate School Spirit on Bulldog Day
Main Street School fourth and fifth grade students showed their school spirit pride during the annual Bulldog Day on May 14. Throughout the day, the students played cooperatively in a number of teambuilding activities.
Dressed in green and white, the students were challenged to move through different stations that included relays, tug of war and obstacle courses at Memorial Field.
“Students practiced each game during their physical education classes, placing special emphasis on how incorporating the Habits of Mind, such as managing impulsivity and taking responsible risks, can enhance their level of play,” Principal Joyce Chapnick said. “Teamwork and good sportsmanship were fostered throughout the day as students interacted with friends.”
Special thanks to physical education teacher Laura Shaw for all of her hard work in preparing for this special day, and thanks to the Irvington Police PBA for providing ice pops for students and staff.
