Marine Club Takes Action With Hudson River Cleanup
Thirteen dedicated members of the Irvington High School Marine Club took their environmental efforts to Matthiessen Park for a Hudson River cleanup on Oct. 27. The students worked together to remove litter and debris from the river, making a visible difference in their community.
Supported by their club adviser Nadia Parikka, they gathered eight bags of trash, showing how their small actions can have a meaningful impact on the environment. Their collective efforts seamlessly align with the district’s Portrait of a Graduate, which develops students into engaged citizen who are aware of how one's actions, thoughts and words impact one's local, national and global communities.
