Dows Lane and Irvington High School Celebrate Halloween and Spirit Day Together

Dows Lane Elementary students and Irvington High School seniors came together to celebrate Halloween and Green/White Spirit Day with a festive parade, classroom read-alouds and a special musical performance.
High school students visited Dows Lane classrooms to read spooky stories to the younger students, while the IHS Marching Band, led by Music Teacher Deb McCumber, joined the celebration and was a highlight of the day.
“Everyone agreed they were the biggest hit!” said Dr. Andrea Kantor, Dows Lane Principal. “This was a collaboration with Megan Hanson, our Assistant Principal; Sara Rust, IHS Assistant Principal; Jon Hirsch, IHS Principal; Ferhad Razzak, IHS Dean of Students; and all the staff and students involved. It’s a great tradition!”
The event brought joy and school spirit to students of all ages, reinforcing the strong sense of community that connects Irvington’s schools.
