MSS Fourth, Fifth Graders Celebrate Spirit Day
Dressed in white and green attire, Main Street School students demonstrated school spirit
and Bulldog pride during their school’s pep rally on Sept. 15. The fourth and fifth graders worked on creating original cheers and performed them before their peers. In addition, they were treated to a performance by the Irvington High School marching band, while varsity team captains shared what it means to be a leader.
“It was wonderful to have the high school marching band and varsity athletes join us once again, performing Go Big Green and other recognizable pieces,” MSS Principal Joyce Chapnick said. “The athletes truly inspired our students by highlighting the qualities of strong leadership and giving them a glimpse into the opportunities that lie ahead. Their positive example was motivating for the MSS community.”
Special thanks to physical education teacher Laura Shaw, the entire MSS staff and students, as well as high school band director Debra McCumber and her band students, athletic director John Buonamano, and the high school athletes for making the event memorable.
