Juniors Earn Top Awards at 2022 Tri-County Science Fair
Four Irvington High School juniors, who are members of the Science Research program, earned the top awards at the Tri-County Science & Technology Fair, held virtually on April 5.
Olivia Yin earned third place in the Clinical and Social Psychology category for “Anxiety and Aspirations of High School Students During Year 2 of the COVID-19 Pandemic.” Talia Ruoff earned third place in the Earth and Space Science category for “Correlations Between Solar Parameters and Auroral Activity During Solar Flares.” Lila Juenger earned third place in the Physics category for “Numerical Analysis of an Electrostatic Ion Beam Deflector for Laboratory Studies of Interstellar Ion-Neutral Reactions.” Meika Tomita earned second place in the Health and Nutrition category for “The Impact of the T/T Haplotype on the BCMO1 Gene to Identify a Correlation Between Vitamin A Deficiency and Different Ethnic/Racial Groups.”
“We are so proud of our students and look forward to seeing all that they accomplish next year as seniors,” co-advisers Amy Ma and Nadia Parikka said.
