Students Share Favorite Books to Build a Schoolwide Reading Community
Sixth grade students at Irvington Middle School have taken the lead in their school’s “First Chapter Fridays” initiative, taking turns presenting their independent reading books to classmates. The students shared favorite titles and personal recommendations to inspire their peers to discover new books and continue reading over the summer. To further encourage a strong reading community, the school will host a grade-level reading recommendations event on June 15.
