Students Celebrate Literacy During Dows Lane’s Switcharoo Day

Dows Lane Elementary School celebrated its annual Switcharoo Day on March 2 in recognition of Read Across America and the legacy of Dr. Seuss. As part of the festivities, students revisited their classrooms from the previous year, while kindergarten students visited the third grade classrooms. 

Throughout the day, teachers read aloud to the students and reconnected with their former classes, learning about their growth and accomplishments over the past year. 

“We love this day,” Principal Dr. Andrea Kantor said. “The students get to spend time with their friends from the previous year, and the teachers get to see the students a little taller and more grown up.”

This year’s Read Across America theme, “Create and Celebrate a Nation of Diverse Readers,” encouraged a lifelong love of reading among students.
