Irvington Students Celebrated at Music Honor Society Induction Ceremony

Irvington Students Celebrated at Music Honor Society Induction Ceremony

Irvington Middle School proudly welcomed new members into its Music Honor Society during a formal induction ceremony held on November 25. The event celebrated students’ dedication to musical excellence, creativity, and service, highlighting the important role music plays within the school community and beyond.

The ceremony opened with student performances that showcased a range of musical styles and talents. The opening segment featured Early Music performed by Jagger Clark, followed by Sophia Orton performing Etude No. 1 by Philip Glass, Ella Marcus performing “Shy” from Once Upon a Mattress, and Camille Orton performing “Air” from Grieg’s Holberg Suite. These performances set the tone for an evening focused on artistry, commitment, and growth.

Principal David Sottile welcomed students and families, followed by remarks from Assistant Principal Allyson Daley, who led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance and addressed the inductees. The audience then joined together in singing “America the Beautiful,” accompanied on piano by Jagger Clark.

As their names were read aloud, new inductees stood to be recognized before collectively reciting the Music Honor Society pledge, affirming their commitment to musical excellence, service, and leadership.
