Welcome to the Curriculum & Instruction Homepage
As Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, I am proud to share a vision of learning grounded in The Irvington Way, a commitment to developing students who are courageous, collaborative, engaged, and self-aware. These core principles guide every aspect of our work, from the design of meaningful learning experiences to the ways we support each student’s growth and well-being.
In Irvington, we believe that learning is an active, dynamic process. We strive to cultivate curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging students to ask questions, evaluate ideas, and take responsible risks in their learning. We recognize that mistakes are an essential part of growth and that resilience, reflection, and adaptability are key to long-term success.
Equally important is our focus on collaboration and communication. Our students learn to express themselves clearly, listen deeply, and engage in thoughtful dialogue. They build the skills to work productively with others, valuing diverse perspectives and contributing to shared understanding.
We are also committed to developing engaged citizens who understand their role in a larger community. Our students explore issues from multiple perspectives, act with empathy and respect, and recognize the impact of their choices, locally and globally. They learn to build connections, embrace diversity, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
Finally, we prioritize self-awareness and well-being. We support students in reflecting on their learning, understanding their strengths, and developing the confidence and resilience to overcome challenges. By fostering a sense of purpose and encouraging students to pursue their passions, we empower them to achieve their fullest potential.
The Irvington Way is more than a framework, it is a shared commitment to preparing students not only for academic success, but for meaningful, fulfilling lives. We are proud to partner with our families and community in this important work.
